Finally a little better news: IT employment is holding up better than most other industries.
According to the Cyberstates report 382,000 high-tech jobs were created in the past 4 years in the United States. Alon 77000 were created in 2008. It’s down from the 139000 new jobs in 2006, but with 5.9 million U.S. workers it’s still pretty cool.
Overall I hope that IT employment will still grow and move forward. It’s just such a fascinating industry.

If you are looking for a job and using Twitter.com to publish your private stuff, you should be aware that maybe your future employer is “following” you.
Especially users, who are new to Twitter, post their daily nonsense without watching their personal reputation. Twitter is not only 140 characters of message, but also gives others a great idea who you interact with and what you are doing on your average day.
It’s recommended not to Twitter during work hours, using inappropriate language or even bashing your current employer.
Instead of that, Twitter could used to share knowledge and draw a positive picture of yourself.
So don’t forget to think about Reputation management, once you blog, twitter or hang out on Facebook or Myspace.
