Bad news over in the job classified business. 31 percent in ad sales dropped for Monster.com. But that’s not a single problem. All major publishers were hurt, says Google
I am sure that the bad economy is not helping us much, but I am tired of hearing excuses of companies in the online space. Monster.com has had difficulties in the past and the concept of uploading resumes, setting up an account on searching through a large database is becoming less and less attractive for seekers and employers.
Simply Hired or Indeed.com are the new way of finding jobs. Theladders is also one of these services…which help and are just easier than the old-school job boards such as Monter and Careerbuilder.
It’s 2009 and job social networking, high-end recruiters, job search engines and job search tools for high-end jobs are the way to go.

First…apologies for the slowness of this website in the past few months. I finally got a chance to move this blog of Godaddy, one of the cheap web hosting solutions out there. Finding the right hosting solutions is getting harder and harder. I’ve tried 1&1, Godaddy, Bluehost, Westhost, Dreamhost and a bunch of others. Some servers of Dreamhost are working great. Some others just slow down all the time and it drives me absolutely insane.
That said, we’ll see where we are heading to with this. There is a good chance that one day I’ll have to switch again. However, traffic so far has been steady and I am looking forward to grow this blog now.

A few days ago I posted about how unemployed graduates have a hard time finding a job. And that doesn’t only cover the US. Also European and Asian graduates have an incredible hard time finding a job…in a tight job market.
Then the story of a Monroe graduate broke the news. And it seems to make it rounds:

Being unemployed right after college is something we’ve all seen in the past months and it’s certainly depressing for those affected. Since the financial crash happened and with the economy slipped into a recession, the numbers of unemployed graduates increased worldwide.
This week an unemployed graduate, who spent more than $70.000 in tuition fees for Monroe college decided to sue her college b/c they would not help her find a job.
Obvioulsy the college defends itself and it’s probably a tough case to blame your college for not finding a job. However for a college there is a lot of money at stake.
That said…I understand the unemployed graduates frustration. Having spend $70k for tuition fees for an Information technology degree is a little bit too much.
But well….we are living in a free country.
